How to choose in about a minute

Answer one question first: do you pay the statement in full every month?

If you pay in full every month, the APR is irrelevant to you. Pick on rewards alone.
If you carry any balance at all, take the Low-Rate Visa. Rewards never outrun 11 points of APR.
Spend more than $400 a month on gas, EV charging, and groceries together? Platinum Rewards beats flat 2%.
One international trip a year usually covers the case for Travel Rewards on foreign fees alone.
Clearing debt inside 18 months? The Balance Transfer Card wins even after its 3% fee.
No credit file, or repairing one? Start with the Secured Visa and graduate in about a year.

Common questions

Can I hold more than one Summit card?

Yes, up to three at a time depending on your total approved exposure. A common pairing is a rewards card for spending you clear monthly and the Low-Rate Visa for anything you carry.

Does applying for several cards hurt my credit?

Each application is a separate hard inquiry, and several in a short window reads as a risk signal. Apply for the one you want now and wait about six months before adding another.

Can I switch cards without opening a new account?

Between our rewards cards, usually yes. A product change keeps your account number, credit line, and account age intact and does not require a new inquiry. Moving to or from the Secured Visa requires a new account.

Why do none of the cards have an annual fee?

Summit is member-owned and not-for-profit, so the surplus that would become shareholder return goes back into rates and fee structure instead. We have not charged a card annual fee since we began issuing them.

How large a credit line should I expect?

Most approved members land between $2,000 and $15,000 on an unsecured card, based on income, existing obligations, and credit history. The Secured Visa is different: your line equals your deposit.

Do all six report to the credit bureaus?

Yes, every Summit card reports to Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion each month, including the Secured Visa. That is what makes it useful for building history.

Still not sure which one

A member advisor will look at how you actually spend and tell you plainly, with no product quota behind the answer.
