Routing Numbers
Our routing number is 241078901
One number covers every Summit account for direct deposit, electronic payments, and checks. Wires use the same routing number with a few extra lines, all of them below.
When you will need it
Summit uses a single routing number, 241078901, for all members regardless of which branch opened the account.
Direct deposit
Give your employer the routing number and your full account number. Summit posts direct deposits as soon as the payer's file arrives, often up to two days before payday.
Paper checks
The routing number is the first nine digits along the bottom left of a Summit check, followed by your account number and the check number.
ACH transfers
Linking an outside bank, a brokerage, or a payment app uses the same routing number. Most transfers settle in one to three business days at no cost.
Tax refunds and payments
The IRS and state revenue departments accept the routing number for refunds and for scheduled payments. Refunds by direct deposit typically arrive weeks earlier than a mailed check.
Wire transfers
Domestic wires use 241078901 directly. International wires route through a correspondent bank with a SWIFT code, listed further down this page.
Automatic bill payments
Utilities, insurers, and lenders that debit your account need the routing number plus your account number. Set alerts so you see each debit as it posts.
Routing number or account number
People mix these up constantly. The routing number identifies the institution; the account number identifies you.
Wire instructions
Give the sender every line that applies. A missing "for further credit" line is the most common reason a wire is delayed.
Confirm the details by voice
Call the recipient at a number you already had and read the account details back. Wire fraud almost always begins with emailed instructions that were quietly altered.
Submit the request
Start an outgoing wire in online banking, at a branch, or by calling 800-555-0137. We verify your identity and read the instructions back to you before sending.
Track it to arrival
Domestic wires sent before the 3:00 p.m. Central cutoff generally arrive the same day. International wires take one to three business days depending on the destination country.

Common questions
Is it safe to give out the routing number?
Yes. A routing number identifies the institution and is public information printed on every check. Your account number is the sensitive half, so share that only with parties you initiated contact with.
Does Summit have more than one routing number?
No. 241078901 covers every account, every branch, and every transaction type. Some larger banks use different numbers by state; we do not.
Do I use the same number for a wire and for direct deposit?
Yes, the routing number is identical. A wire simply needs additional lines, including our address and, for international senders, the correspondent bank's SWIFT code.
Can a wire be reversed?
Generally no. Wires are final once the receiving bank credits the funds, which is why we ask you to confirm details by voice before sending. Call 800-555-0137 immediately if you suspect an error.
What is the difference between a wire and an ACH transfer?
A wire moves same day, is final, and carries a fee. An ACH transfer is free, settles in one to three business days, and can be returned. For most purposes ACH is the better choice.
My employer's form asks for a bank name and address.
