Summit Credit Navigator

Watch your credit without paying for it

Free score tracking, daily monitoring, alerts when something changes, and a simulator that shows what a decision would do before you make it. Included with membership at no cost.

What Navigator gives you

Everything below is on by default once you enable it in online banking or the Summit app.

Score tracking

Your VantageScore 3.0 from TransUnion, refreshed daily, with a twenty-four month history so you can see the trend rather than a single number.

Daily monitoring

We watch for new accounts, new inquiries, changes in balances or limits, address changes, and public records tied to your file.

Alerts that reach you

Push, email, or text within hours of a change, not at the end of the month. Alerts include what changed and a one-tap path to dispute it if it is not yours.

What-if simulator

Model paying off a card, opening a loan, closing an old account, or letting a balance ride, and see the estimated effect on your score before you commit.

Factor breakdown

The five things moving your score, each marked as helping or hurting, with the specific accounts behind them named rather than described in general terms.

No effect on your score

Checking your own credit through Navigator is a soft inquiry. You can look every day for a year and it will never cost you a point.

Score, not report

How this differs from a credit report

A credit report is the full file a bureau holds on you: every account, every inquiry, every address. A score is a three-digit summary of that file. Navigator shows you the score daily and flags report-level changes, but it is not a substitute for reading the report itself.

Navigator draws on one bureau; your full report exists at three
Lenders may use a different scoring model than the one shown
You still get one free report from each bureau every year
Disputes go to the bureau; Navigator links you straight to the form

Common questions

Does checking my score in Navigator hurt it?

No. Looking at your own credit is a soft inquiry and is never visible to lenders or factored into your score. Only applications you submit create hard inquiries.

Why is my Navigator score different from the one my lender quoted?

Navigator shows VantageScore 3.0 from TransUnion. Many lenders use a FICO model, sometimes an industry-specific version, pulled from a different bureau. A thirty-point gap between models is ordinary.

Is the simulator a promise?

It is an estimate. The simulator uses the same factors the model weighs, but your real score also depends on timing and on what other creditors report that month.

Navigator flagged an account I do not recognize. What now?

Open the alert and use the dispute link, which takes you to the bureau's form with the account details prefilled. Then call our fraud line at 800-555-0142 so we can review your Summit accounts as well.

Does Summit see my score when I apply for a loan?

When you apply, we pull a score for that decision, as any lender does. Enabling Navigator does not give underwriters extra access, and turning it off does not affect an application.

Can I turn it off?

Yes, from Settings in online banking or the app. Monitoring stops immediately, alerts end, and your score history is deleted within thirty days.

Switch it on in two taps

Navigator lives in online banking and the Summit app. Enabling it takes a moment and costs nothing, now or later.
